Which video streaming app has more subscribers? Research shows surprising numbers

The video streaming service war has been stronger than ever with tons of apps and options to be chosen over the last years, making a hard choice for the customers to decide which one is more suitable for them. 

This is due to the massive lockdowns last year forcing people to stay at home. In order to be entertained, customers decided to join many video streaming apps.

It’s undeniable the rise of Netflix which remains the most popular service with 203 million subscribers worldwide. Hits such as Bridgerton, Emily in Paris, Extraction, Money Heist and The Queen’s Gambit. Furthermore, the company also is willing to help young filmmakers to release their film on the platform – also veterans such as David Fincher with the Academy Award nominee Mank.

The second place belongs to Amazon Prime Video with almost 150 million subscribers worldwide. The service is an Add-on from Amazon Prime subscription, which allows customers discounts and free deliveries through its website. Prime Video has great TV Shows such as Invincible, Small Axe, Fleabag, Marvelous Miss Mansell and movies as well. The affordable price is an advantage among other services. Currently, the company is working on the adaption of a TV show based on the universe of Lord of the Rings and it has been called the substitute for Game of Thrones.

Released in 2019, the Streaming app Disney+ has become huge with the nostalgic catalogue including several hits from all the history of the company and also new acquisition such as Marvel, Lucasfilm, Nat Geo and 20th Century Fox. The first big commercial success was the TV Show Mandalorian, Wandavision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. The service has 95 million subscribers.
