Childhood nostalgia is making a big comeback, with 90s and 00s babies beaming at the news of these nostalgic returns. Born in 1999, I was raised on Disney Channel original shows and movies, with Zack and Cody, That’s So Raven, and Hannah Montana being among my favourites.

Many 90s shows have been revived over the years, with Fuller House, Girl Meets World, and Bel-Air among the most popular. Seen throughout social media, many of the popular 2000s shows have had online reunions, posting about them on Instagram and TikTok. Zack and Cody, Jessie, and That’s So Raven are among some of the most notable reunions that have been circulated online.
One of the most exciting announcements regarding Disney Channel shows was the release of the 20-year anniversary of Hannah Montana, which is now streaming on Disney +. This release has fans more excited than ever, as Hannah Montana was one of the highest-rated and most popular shows throughout the 2000s, especially as Miley Cyrus remains one of the most notable actresses and musicians today.
Hannah Montana’s 20-year reunion special is a nostalgic and fun-filled project that sets out to look back at the beloved series. Alex Cooper, host of Call Her Daddy, interviews Miley Cyrus as she speaks on how playing Hannah changed her life, including behind-the-scenes clips of her house, closet, and guest appearances from everyone’s favourite characters. The reunion celebrates the uniqueness of the show and the impact Hannah Montana had on us as kids.

Apart from Hannah Montana, the rising stars at the time of these Disney Channel originals included the show Jonas, which featured The Jonas Brothers. The Jonas Brothers rose to success because of their band, but also due to the rapid success of their hit Disney films, Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2.

Since the Jonas Brothers reunion back in 2019, they have released several songs as well as their Remember This Tour from 2020 to 2022. They also released their sixth studio album in 2023, with a Jonas Christmas Movie having been released last year, which fans were ecstatic about, as their hit Disney Channel show, Jonas, was a big hit for JoBro fans. Below is a video from the Jonas Brothers’ reunion tour show in Toronto, where I attended with my best friend and had an amazing night filled with nostalgia. The Jonas Brothers were a staple to us growing up. The show was a pop-up at Massey Hall with loyal fans securing tickets for a chance to see their favourite childhood band one last time.
