Tell Me Lies recently wrapped up their long-awaited third and final season, showcasing the devastating end between Lucy and Stephen, while revealing each of the characters’ darkest secrets. Switching between its two timelines of 2009 and 2015, the show not only captivates the audience through its brutal truths each character faces but also highlights the timeless fashion sense seen throughout these eras.
2007 Baird College Fashion:
Throughout the 2007 Baird College timeline, each of the girls has her own unique fashion sense. Lucy is typically seen wearing low rise jeans and layered tops, which can be seen on many social influencers in the present day. Pippa is an edgier character with a style to match, seen primarily wearing black, chunky boots, and standout jewelry. Bree, on the other hand, is styled in a more innocent fashion. Reflecting the innocence of her character is dressed in converse, jeans, and typically lacy tops.

2015 Wedding Fashion:
When the timeline cuts to 2015, the fashion clearly shifts to showcase more polished looks and softer colours that reflect the change in history and the fashion at the time. The looks of 2015 hope to imitate how each of the characters grown in the 8 years since they have all seen one another, especially after Lucy was expelled from the college. Lucy’s newfound sense of freedom from Stephen can be seen throughout her style as well, as she is dressed more maturely and in lighter colours. Lucy’s fashion choices symbolize how she left behind her college self and the ways in which she has stepped into a new sense of self, as she has left Baird and ultimately Stephen.

Throughout the years in which the show is seen, we can see the fashion sense getting more sophisticated and closely mirroring each of the characters and the ways in which they have changed since they began college.
Fashion itself has made a full revival, as most of these outfits can be seen today. Tell Me Lies was one of the most anticipated television series of the year, with season 2 leaving viewers with a cliff hanger that lasted over two years. The series’ finale was one of the most discussed endings to any show, as director Megan Oppenheimer executed an ending that left viewers satisfied.
