This week, I sat down with Ryan McQue, Odds compiler with Paddy Power and Cheltenham for the last 8 years. Ryan along with a team of 4 or 5 others will be in charge of setting the prices for each race at the upcoming Cheltenham Festival. He regularly appears on podcasts and to give his take on upcoming big race. Ryan’s insight when it comes to giving horse racing tips is invaluable. Throughout the course of this podcast we discussed our best bet for each day of the Cheltenham festival 2022. You can listen the full podcast below. Alternatively it is broken up day by day throughout the course of the article.
Tuesday
Tuesday is always a great start to the week with the highlights of the day being the Champion Hurdle, the Arkle Chase and the Supreme Novice Hurdle. Honeysuckle is the highlight horse of the day bidding for a second year in a row. She is however no value from a betting perspective at odds of 8/13. So we decided to look elsewhere for our bets of the day.

Wednesday
Wednesday is Champion Chase day. This years festival sees Energumene and Shiskin face off again after their incredible battle in last months Clarence House at Ascot. My selection of the day is heavily weighted on the betting market between the two. Ryan gives two very e/w shots in two of the handicap races as his selections.

Thursday
Thursday is really all about two races, The Turners Novice Chase and the Paddy Power Stayers Hurdle. We give our selections for these races. Ryan also lets us know one horse that is very well fancied that you should not back. I also recently bought a horse (that I found on https://www.horsescout.com/horses-for-sale) and it’s been amazing, so I’ll keep you updated.

The last day is also the day in which the biggest race of the week will be contested. The Cheltenham Gold Cup is a competitive field this year once again. We discuss our thoughts on who will win the big one this year. Ryan gives his bet of the week in the Mares Novice Chase.
