I love music and I listen to a variety of music genres like rap, r&b, gospel, and a bit of pop. Last year during the quarantine, I began to listen to gospel music more just to lift my spirit and give me hope. So listed below are my favorite gospel music at the moment.

10) I thank God by Maverick City and Upperroom:

This song was written by Jesse Cline, Maryanne J George, Dante Bowe, Aaron Moses, and Chuck Butler. It is about thanking God for saving us from hell and how God also made us free from the bondage of satan. It assures us as believers that we are free and delivered.

9) When I Say Jesus By Life Church Worship:

When I Say Jesus” is a powerful testament to God’s ability to destroy doubt and fear and replace it with comfort and hope. According to Life Church Worship,

This song was written for a dear friend of ours. She had just lost her husband after being married only three months. She didn’t know Jesus, but wanted to learn about Him. The words of this “When I Say Jesus” were what our team wanted her to know—that there’s hope and power in the name of Jesus. His name alone can get us through life’s most difficult circumstances. Just a few months later, that same writer who brought his friend’s story to the table lost his dad and two of his closest friends. In those moments of grief, he remembered the words he’d helped write for his friend, and he was reminded that God was with him in his darkest hour.

8)In Control By Hillsong:

This song was written by Ben Fielding & Aodhan King. It talks about believers surrendering their life to God and letting Him take control because He is almighty and greater than what we might be passing through. My favorite part is the chorus.

I lift my hands to heaven

Here my heart surrendered

I tell my soul again

You are Lord of all

Though the seas are raging

You will speak and tame them

In You I find my rest

You are in control

7)It is so by Elevation Worship:

This song was written by Steven Furtick, Chris Brown, Tiffany Hammer, Brian Johnson. I love it because it assures me that the promises of God always come to pass when we believe him despite our sins and mistakes in the past. My favorite part of the song is the chorus

By your stripes I am healed

With one touch I am made whole

You have spoken

And I know that it is so

In the storm You are peace

And your love won’t let me go

You have spoken

And I know that it is so

6) My Testimony by Elevation Worship:

This song was written by Brandon Lake, Steven Furtick, Chris Brown, Tiffany Hammer.  I love it because the lyrics are personal, and it is a declaration of how God sent Jesus to die for our sins.  The song has a very nice beat to it and it gives me rock music vibes. My favorite part is the chorus which says:

This is my testimony from death to life

Cause grace rewrote my story, I’ll testify

By Jesus Christ the Righteous

I’m justified

This is my testimony

This is my testimony

5) Another in The Fire by Hillsong:

This song was written by Chris Davenport & Joel Houston. I love it because it gives the assurance that we are not alone as believers. God is always with us even in the bad times so we should not be afraid of any difficulty. My favorite part is the outro which goes :

There’ll be another in the fire

Standing next to me

There’ll be another in the waters

Holding back the seas

And should I ever need reminding

How good You’ve been to me

I’ll count the joy come every battle

‘Cause I know that’s where You’ll be

4) Graves Into Gardens by Elevation Worship:

This song was written by Steven Furtick, Chris Brown, Tiffany Hammer, Brandon Lake. I love it because it talks about how God can use a bad situation for good. It assures us to trust God despite whatever we might be going through.  My favorite part goes

oh there’s nothing better than You

There’s nothing better than You

Lord there’s nothing, nothing is better

than You

3) As You Find Me by Hillsong:

This song was written by Joel Houston, Matt Crocker & Benjamin Hastings. A friend of mine introduced me to this song and I loved it from the first time I listened to it. It talks about how God loves us just as we are, and that Jesus died to save us.  It also talks about how God is faithful even in our unfaithfulness. My favorite part of the lyric says

If You want my heart

I won’t second guess

‘Cause I need Your love

More than anything

I’m in

I’m Yours

Your love’s too good to leave me here

Your love’s too good to leave me

2) Champion by Maverick City and Upperroom :

This song was written by Brandon Lake, Steffany Gretzinger, Dante Bowe, Jonathan Jay, and Tony Brown. It talks about how God fights our every battle and as children of God, victory is our portion.  My favorite part is the chorus.

You are my Champion

Giants fall when You stand

Undefeated

Every battle You’ve won

I am who you say I am

You crown me with confidence

I am seated

In the heavenly place

Undefeated

With the One who has conquered it all

1)Jireh by Elevation Worship and Maverick City:

This song is a new release from the elevation worship featuring maverick city album “Old Church Basement” that will be released on 30th of April 2021. This track was released on the 26th of March 2021. It was written by Steven Furtick, Chris Brown, Naomi Raine, and Chandler Moore. It talks about how God can provide for us even beyond our expectations.  Jehovah Jirah means God my provider. My favorite part is the outro that says.

If He dresses the lilies with beauty and splendor

How much more will He clothe you

How much more will He clothe you

If He watches over every sparrow

How much more does He love you

How much more does He love you

More than you ask, think or imagine

According to His power working in us

It’s more than enough
