If you ever go to Norway, I will highly recommend to visit Nordfjord on the west coast. You will find some of the most majestic mountains in Norway there. «Hoven» is one of them and it is
located in Loen, close to Stryn. Exactly half a year ago Queen Sonja of Norway opened Loen Skylift. Everyone can now visit the mountain Hoven at 1011 m, just by entering a cable car.
This spectacular new attraction reached their goal – having 55.000 visitors through the whole year already early this summer, according to the local newspaper «Fjordingen» Not a big surprise.
When you reach the top, you will be rewarded with an unforgettable fjord landscape and you can
also enjoy a tasty «Hovenburger» at Hoven Restaurant while you look at the breathtaking view.
«From fjord to sky in 5» is their motto, because it doesn’t even take more than five minutes to get
to the restaurant at the top. If you are scared of heights, you really don’t have to worry. The cable car goes really smoothly to the top of the mountain. Honestly, it’s almost like taking an elevator.
If you prefer walking to the top, there are guided tours during the summer season. «Via Ferrata» was a really popular attraction many years before Loen Skylift opened. It’s not a secret that Loen has been a magnet for tourists for more than a century. The local community is working really hard to promote this place. Both Loen Active, Loen Skylift and Hotel Alexandra collaborate in an exceptional way to make sure that every visitor gets a really good experience out of their stay in Loen.
