After selling out the Sangam Stadium in Seoul, Korea for the 2014 World Championships and the Stapels Centre in LA in 2013, the World Championships are heading to Europe for 2015, taking place in a host of cities and venues around the continent.
This all begins with the group stages which will be hosted over 2 weeks in Paris, at Le Dock Pullman, before heading out to London for the quarterfinals. The quarter finals will take place at Wembley Arena, where an LCS week was held in 2014. After that the four remaining teams will travel to Brussel for the semifinals at the Brussels Expo. Finally, the two remaining teams will battle it out in the final at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, home city of the European LCS.
The dates for each leg are as follows:
Group Stages: October 1-4 and October 8-11 – Le Dock Pullman, Paris
Quarterfinals: October 15-18 – SSE Arena Wembley, London
Semifinals: October 24-25 – Brussels Expo, Brussels
Finals: October 31 – Mercedes-Benz Arena (currently O2 World – Berlin)
While the venue numbers don’t quite match up to the 45,000 that we saw at the Sangam stadium last year, hitting iconic venues like Wembley Arena and the Mercedes-Benz Arena will create an incredible atmosphere, like what we saw at the AllStars 2014 event in Paris and the 2013 World Championship Finals in the Stapels Center.
