Using Vinted to Revamp Your Closet for Under €50

Refreshing your wardrobe doesn’t have to mean fast fashion hauls or overspending. Platforms like Vinted have transformed how we shop, making it easier than ever to build a stylish, curated closet on a budget while reducing environmental impact.

Second-hand fashion isn’t just a trend, it’s a shift in consumer behavior towards a more sustainable market. Many shoppers now prioritize quality, affordability, and sustainability, with studies showing that buying pre-loved clothing can significantly cut waste and emissions.

The best part is that shopping second hand, is also budget friendly. If you shop strategically, you can upgrade your entire wardrobe for under €50.

One of the most effective ways to elevate your wardrobe is to pick versatile, timeless pieces. In picking items that can be worn in a variety of styles makes for a well-curated and functional closet.

In my recent experience on Vinted I was able to purchase clothing staples and unique pieces all for under €50. For example, I purchased a denim vest top that is able to be styled in multiple ways, including being layered, which works perfectly for Irish spring weather. Below are two outfits that I styled using the piece with clothing I previously owned, and a pair of linen pants I also purchased on Vinted in the past week.

Another addition to my closet that I recently sources from Vinted are gingham shorts. These shorts are equally as versatile as the denim jacket as it can be dressed up or dressed down.

One of my favorite aspects of shopping on Vinted is the potential to vintage items, find high-end pieces, or even brand-new items with tags still attached at a discounted price. To the left, is an Urban Outfitters top that I purchased with the tags still on paired with Vintage Paige Jeans that would retail for over €200. This allows for the average student or buyer on a budget to have brand-new or well-crafted garments without breaking the bank.

One of Vinted’s most budget-friendly features is bundling, which allows buyers to purchase multiple items from the same seller while only paying for shipping once. This can significantly reduce overall costs, especially when building a wardrobe from scratch.

Bundling also opens the door to better deals. Many sellers offer discounts when you buy multiple items, meaning you can stretch your €50 even further. For example, instead of buying one €5 item from multiple sellers (and paying shipping each time), you could purchase three items from one seller and save both on shipping and potentially receive a bundle discount.

Below are items that I received in a Vinted bundle for under €22 including shipping.

While Vinted is a great platform for buyers seeking both a bargain and a more sustainable way to shop, it also provides an opportunity to earn money by selling their own clothes. Selling on Vinted isn’t just a way to declutter your wardrobe, it can provide great payment for the items you sell. With the growing popularity of second-hand fashion, more people are turning to resale platforms to both shop sustainably and earn money from clothes they no longer wear.

While Vinted is often associated with clothing, I’ve found it to be much more versatile. Beyond wardrobe pieces, the platform offers a wide range of items, from accessories and beauty products to home décor and books.

Personally, I’ve had great success not only buying clothes but also selling books on Vinted. Books are especially easy to list and ship, and they tend to attract buyers who are already browsing for affordable finds. I’ve found that adding books to my profile alongside clothing increases visibility and encourages bundle purchases.

Refreshing your wardrobe doesn’t have to mean overspending or contributing to fast fashion. Platforms like Vinted make it possible to shop more intentionally, whether that’s sourcing well-made pieces at a fraction of the price, experimenting with your personal style, or even making money from items you no longer use.

By focusing on versatile staples, shopping strategically, and embracing second-hand options, you can build a closet that reflects both your style and your values. And with the added benefit of selling your own clothes, or even books, you’re not just consuming fashion, you’re participating in a more circular and sustainable system.

Ultimately, it’s about shifting the way we think about clothing: buying less, choosing better, and making the most of what we already have.
