The American rapper Cardi B known worldwide for singles like Bodak Yellow, who reached number 1 on Billboard for consecutive weeks, resurfaces, but this time for a different reason.
Irreverent, the speechless singer who speaks openly on her social media about sexuality, black feminism, and legalization of immigrants in the United States, has recently gone viral.
With the worldwide outbreak of the coronavirus and seeing how the population and the American Government were not taking proper care and following the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO), the rapper decided to alert her followers about what was happening.
All of this with its special touch, which made the alert – although real – become a world joke.
“Government, let me tell y’all motherfuckers something,” she says.
“I don’t know what the fuck this coronavirus is about. I don’t understand how this shit was from Wuhan, China, now all of the sudden this shit is on motherfucking tour. And let me tell y’all something, I ain’t even gonna front. A bitch is scared. I’m a little scared. You know what I’m saying? Like, shit got me panicking.”
“Shit is getting real”, yells comically before finishing recording.
The video has been replicated hundreds of times on social media, has become a trending topic in countries around the world and even several remixes. One of them by a famous DJ among pop artists, Dj Snake.
“The fact that this damn coronavirus song is charting on iTunes … Hold on … let me hit the DJ up and Atlantic so I can get my damn coins,” Cardi B wrote in an Instagram post.
After that she posted a screenshot showing her new song at number 96 on the Itunes chart.
The viralization was so huge, that the rapper became a mural in Ireland, “😂😂😂😩Ireland take quarantine serious.” said.
Despite the joke, Cardi B was right. Currently, the United States is the country with the most cases of coronavirus around the world. About 1.16 million people were infected and more than 65,000 died.
