
If you’ve ever wanted to go on a road trip around Ireland, just go for it! As an Erasmus student I was fortunate enough to be able to go on a road trip around a large part of the country for about 5 days before University started. A tip is to rent a car with a GPS and after that it should be a piece of cake, as pretty much everything is accessible by car. It’s the perfect country for a road trip, as the longest section took about 5 hours by car, but it mostly varied between 1-3 hours, which means you can see a lot and have plenty of time to enjoy it.

The itinerary below is an example of how you can plan a trip around the country, but it all depends on what you’re interested in seeing. The best thing about renting a car and planning the trip yourself, is the ability to decide how much time you want to spend at different places, without having a tour bus schedule to follow.
