Coming towards the tail end of the year, we look at what artist are coming to grace our shores during the month of November;

First up we have Metropolis festival on the 7th November- 8th November in the RDS (Royal Dublin Society)  which is set to welcome a variety of sublime music. Want to know more about the act’s playing click here.

 November 13th – Julio Bashmore is playing The Academy 

Matthew Walker A.k.a Julio Bashmore originated from Bristol’s hot bed of bass music was where Bashmore found his love for house music.  “Da Funk” by Daft Punk left Bashmore engrossed and entranced by electronic music.  Bashmore approach to composition is inspired by Daft Punk and Cassius, which can be seen by his extensive collection of Vinyls.  Bashmore began producing at fourteen with an old copy of reason and a battered Pc. Venturing into the world of synthesisers and guitars, playing with numerous bands.

21st November – Sense with Paul Woolford is playing The Button Factory

Today, electronic music is currently at the forefront of the Irish music scene moreso than ever before. The fusion of House, Techno and Bass music and the multiple deriving genres means Dublin is continuously privileged with multiple notable DJ’s and producers weekly. November 21st, The Button Factory looks set to open its doors to welcome Paul Woolford. Woolford’s residency on Sundays at Space in Ibiza is always set to be an unforgettable night. (Read more)



26th November – Detroit Swindle  are playing The Electric Garden and Theater (Galway)

Detroit Swindle is comprised of Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets the house music DJs, which originated out of the hot bed of electronic music that is Amsterdam.  The duo’s moniker implies that the pair originated out of Detroit motor city’s known as the birthplace of House music and Motown. The primary reason behind the pair’s decision to name themselves Detroit Swindle, is due to their love for Motown and the sounds which resonated with them from a young age.

27th November – Bakermat is playing The Button Factory

Bakermat has been making his mark on electronic music over the past year, with the bold and innovative idea of bringing wood winds to flourish with progressive jazz rifts. His European tour has been a big sign of what is to come, along with numerous remixes and original releases for this Nu-Jazz producer. Nu-Jazz refers to music that blends jazz elements with other musical styles, such as funk, soul, electronic dance music, with the addition of free improvisation.
