“I was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma right in the middle of writing my thesis… it wasn’t as dramatic as they show in the movies when I was told I had cancer”
Gillian Chapman was 21 years old when she noticed a lump which expanded to the size of a golf ball just below her collarbone and she was diagnosed almost right after seeing her doctors with Hodgkin lymphoma cancer in February 2016.
Although Gill is now in remission, she sat with me to recount her story of how she found out, how she was able to pull through, her emotional state and life after cancer.
This is her story in her own words.
