A tightly contested clash at the Carlisle Grounds saw Bray Wanderers overcome UCD 2–1.

The Seagulls went third in the First Division after that win, only behind Cork City and Athlone Town.
Ben McCormack opened the scoring in the first half, when UCD defender Niall Holohan misplaced his back-pass to keeper Dara Kavanagh, allowing McCormack to take one touch and tap it home.
UCD levelled the game with twenty minutes remaining, as Hugh Smith flicked a header into the top left corner, past James Corcoran.
Super-sub Richard Ferizaj sealed the game for Bray, rifling the ball off the crossbar and into the UCD goal from ten yards out.
Bray sit on ten points in the league, with three wins and a draw under their belt, and level on points with Athlone Town, who have a one-goal advantage.
UCD have had a mixed bag of results in the first five fixtures, winning two, drawing one, and losing two along the way, leaving them third and only three points behind Bray.
The two sides faced each other in the back end of last season, competing in the promotion playoffs, where Bray emerged victorious over two legs, winning 4-2 on aggregate.
Elsewhere in the First Division, Athlone Town kept a clean sheet against Cobh Ramblers and winning 2-0, Cork City extended their lead at the top of the table, beating Longford Town 2-1, Finn Harps and Treaty United played out a four-goal thriller, ending 2-2, and Wexford FC shared points with Kerry FC, drawing 1-1.
