We live in the age of TikTok, at least until the next new app takes its place. Of course, Instagram and Youtube are both still going strong, but TikTok is known for its short videos and viral content. The app has given many content creators to go viral and build an audience in a way that was not possible before, and a lot of these creators operate in the fashion sphere.

Before the rise of social media, many of these creators would have been competing to write about fashion in various magazines and publications. Later, everyone flocked to blogs, and even now there has been a resurgence in blog-style writing, with many creators having their own Substack pages, where subscribers have access to exclusive content. Still, these days TikTok is usually where these creators have the largest following, and are usually the most active with their content.

Here are some great fashion analysis pages to follow on TikTok:

1. Mandy Lee – @oldloserinbrooklyn

Mandy is known for her accurate trend predictions and fashion week coverage. She also discusses the annual Met Gala in depth, and is known for her particular style, which favours designers such as Simone Rocha. Mandy has over 500 thousand followers on TikTok, and has earned her place amongst TikTok’s fashion critic royalty.

Welcome to the third annual met gala watch party! This is how i judge a met gala look. What matters more, how a garment looks or if it follows the theme? #metgala #metgala2024

If you want to learn something new and seemingly obscure, but at the same time incredibly relevant to the fashion landscape today, Ryan’s page is the one to follow. This is in my humble opinion the best way to start your personal style journey, it’s to find out what clothes make you feel. No matter how simple or fleeting that feeling might be, you an emotional connection to help you understand what actually work for you. #personalstyle #fashioninspo #styletips

3. Alexandra Hildreth – @guyfieri.superfan

While she does not have a following as large as some other creators, Alexandra’s 66.4 thousand followers on TikTok is still an impressive number. She is not always as active as other creators, who at times post almost daily, but that does not mean is does not know what she is talking about. Alexandra is a freelance fashion writer, and has had her work published in Nylon, i-D and others. Expect less straightforward red carpet fashion recaps and more theoretical fashion analysis content.

4. Timothy Chernyaev – @relaxitsonlyfashion

Timothy describes himself as a fashion editor, stylist and content creator. Timothy has over 385 thousand followers on TikTok and often follows a particular style of content. Using a

comment on a previous video, he films a video in response and discusses the topic that the comment mentions. His page often features in depth fashion show reviews.
