When it comes to fitness there is always a new, exciting and trendy way for you to work out without getting bored. Last year it was Zumba, before that it was pilates and before that yoga. This year it’s Bokwa.
Like Zumba, Bokwa is a dance based workout, and involves using your feet to trace the shapes of letters and numbers while dancing and getting in a cardio workout. One session can burn as much as 1200 calories in a session.
After a Bokwa class in Dublin one young fitness enthusiast, Rebecca, says “It’s a hell of a work out and you’ll be exhausted afterwards if you really go for it. It takes a while to get used to but once you get the hang of it it’s so much fun . . . but I still have a long way to go before I can look as good as the instructors when I do it”
I cant say I disagree with that sentiment after attending one of the classes, While I started off slow, once the class got into action the movement was so constant that you didn’t even realise how exhausted you got until the end. It was definitely an entertaining and effective workout that is well worth the time to check out.
