THE CIRCULAR

A day full of sunshine in quarantine

There is study after study that link the benefits of sunshine to your happiness and mental health. With the global pandemic COVID-19 making it’s way across the world, this is a difficult time for everyone. We are all trying to find ways to to relax and pass the time before we are hopefully able to resume our normal day to day life. One of the most important things that everyone needs to try to do is to go outside and spend as much time in the sunshine as possible. This is obviously not easy for everyone, I am very lucky to be spending my quarantine at my parent’s home in Florida that they recently had extended porch but thankfully it’s nearing the end of spring so there is at least some sunshine to be found even in the least sunny places.

I have made going outside a part of my everyday routine during quarantine. I have found that days when I am too busy doing college work or I am feeling down from having my life disrupted and I don’t end up going outside… that is when I really feel depressed. Whether it is re-reading the full Harry Potter series on my plant filled porch, going for a long walk in the park listening to podcasts that inspire me, dancing around my backyard to my favorite Maggie Rogers song or running to get an iced coffee from my favorite local coffee shop’s drive through, I know that it is essential for my well being and happiness to get out of my house and enjoy the Florida sunshine.
