The referendum deciding rather or not the 8th Amendment will be repealed will take place next month, on May 26th, 2018. The Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, said: “This referendum is about asking our citizens to allow women to make major decisions for themselves. It’s about trusting women to decide, in the early weeks of their pregnancy, what’s right for them and their families.”
If the referendum passes, the government will introduce a legislation allowing unrestricted abortion during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. But, what’s currently allowed? What’s not? You can take this test to have a better understanding of the actual situation in Ireland, and clarify rather you want to vote in favour or against the repeal next month.
