5 of the most popular spring fashion trends for 2024

‘Florals, for Spring, groundbreaking.’ With Spring approaching, its almost time to retire your winter coat for another year and are unsure about what to wear this Spring, look no further. It can be difficult to know what to wear for Spring without immediately deviating to florals. Here are some of the trends that have been dominating retail stores, runways and red carpets in Spring 2024. So don’t reach for the floral dress in your closet just yet…..

  1. Leopard print

Leopard print is back in a huge way this Spring. What was once considered a trashy print, reminiscent of the Y2k era, is having a glamorous makeover this Spring. If you’ve been keeping up with online fashion trends, you’ve certainly seen this print become popularised through the ‘mob wife’ aesthetic on Tik tok and Instagram. Pair this with a fur coat for a more glamorous look, or a smokey eye if you want to bring back the Y2k aesthetic.

2. Hearts

This trend has been around for over a year amongst high fashion brands, such as area.nyc and ndsthelabel.com. In the weeks approaching Valentine’s day, it started to crop up amongst mainstream fashion brands, such as ohpolly.com. Despite Valentine’s day being over, this trend doesn’t appear to be going anywhere, with many brands releasing their own variation of the style.

3. Lace

Did lace ever really go out of style? Lace is classic and traditional. It has been around for centuries. Since last year, however, lace dresses and tops, particularly sheer lace dresses and tops, have been dominating. Not only is this sheer lace trend staying as the weather gets warmer, its being joined by other variations of this style. Think lace slip dresses and lace applique, as seen on the Versace SS24 runway.

4. Ruffles

Ruffles have been spotted all over the red carpet this award season, from Brie Larson to Emma Stone. You can wear full on dramatic ruffled sleeves like Emma Stone (pictured below), or you can go for a more subtle look by wearing ruffles at the hem of your sleeves or at the top of your dress. Ruffles are being carried by many mass-market brands, such as houseofcb.com and ohpolly.com.

5. Red

Red is huge this season, but not just any red, a very particular shade of red. That shade is a dark red, maroon colour. If you’ve been keeping up with fashion trends via Tik Tok, you’ve definitely come across this. But its not just the jackets that are maroon. The colour of the season is being featured on every clothing item imaginable, so there is lots of choice when shopping.
