Where the Crawdads Sing is the long awaited movie release of the award winning novel of the same name. Arriving this summer. Starring Daisy Edger-Jones of Normal People fame and David Strathairn is known for his role as William Seward in Lincoln, the story is a whirlwind from start to finish. The protagonist is a woman from the marshes of deep south America who finds herself the main suspect for the murder of a man she was romantically involved with. The movie is directed by Olivia Newman and hits theatres on June 24th in Ireland and is the perfect holiday read.
Salem’s Lot by Stephen King

Another Stephen King brainchild will be released in cinemas this Autumn. If you want to start your spooky season a bit early you can dive into Salem’s Lot. The reader joins author Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) on his journey back to his childhood home, only to discover it is inhabited by vampires. Some readers may be disappointed to learn they’re not the type to sparkle in the sun. Full of the thrills and spills King fans have grown to love it’s an ideal story to familiarise yourself with if you have intentions of seeing the movie first.

The film follows the journalists as they investigate allegations and attempt to break the story of Harvey Weinstein’s alleged sexual misconduct. Although a heavy topic the story depicts a vital step in women’s rights and the importance of supporting brave people coming forward when they have been mistreated. Jodi Kantor is played by Zoe Kazan and Megan Twohey is played by Carey Mulligan.
