Two minutes before midnight on the 2nd of October 1990 Sarah Klier was born. Exact two minutes before the German Democratic Republic ended in the German reunification between West and East Germany. She is possibly the last born baby, before¬†East and West Germany became one on the 3rd of October 1990. Her photos¬†were seen around the world under the title ”the last cry of the German Democratic Republic”. Born in Leipzig, the bachelor graduate in tourism management, is contacted from journalists all over the world, especially when the anniversary of the German reunification approaches.

”It was just a hazard”, she told various German newspapers. Prominent since she was born, as a little celebrity regarding the German reunification, she was invited to TV shows, was printed on newspaper covers all over the world and received many letters from strangers. The Saxon is glad that there is freedom to travel in the reunified Germany. This freedom was not always given in the German Democratic Republic.

Her 25th birthday she celebrated at the weekend at home with her family and friends. Klier will remain the last child of the German Democratic Republic.
