Bradley is Hoops new commanding chief.

It was announced earlier today by Shamrock Rovers’ Sporting Director Stephen McPhail that Stephen Bradley will be appointed as their new Head Coach.

Bradley previously played for Shamrock Rovers during the 2009 and 2010 seasons, winning their first league title in 16 years and also coming runners up to Sligo Rovers on penalties.

This will be Bradley’s first  permanent Head Coaching role as last season he was named manager, but only on an interim when Pat Fenlon had been sacked after the club’s two nil home loss in the first qualifying round  of  the Europa League .

Speaking to the Shamrock Rovers club website he said:

I am very honoured to accept the position of Head Coach at Shamrock Rovers F.C. We have a huge amount of work to do but preparations for next season are already well underway and we will work night and day to make sure the team is ready to compete for honours come March.

Stephen McPhail also spoke on the matter stating:

I am delighted to announce Stephen Bradley as the new Head Coach of Shamrock Rovers F.C.

In my opinion, he is one of the best young coaches that I’ve seen during my time in football and he is absolutely the right man to lead the first team forward at this point in time.

This news comes after it was announced by League of Ireland.ie that  ex-UCD and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Paul Corry  had penned a deal with the Dublin club.

Rovers also confirmed that there will be a media event this Friday, 18th of November, where Bradley and McPhail will both speak to the press, along with the announcement of a number of new signings.
