A protest will take place on O Connell Street this Saturday in the lead-up to International Women’s Day on Sunday.

The rally is organised by ROSA (for Reproductive rights, against Oppression, Sexism & Austerity).

Named after Rosa Parks and Rosa Luxemburg, the organisation was founded in 2013 by women in the Socialist Party. It has since been involved in organising campaigns highlighting oppression.

Over 2000 people turned up to last year’s event at the Central Bank. You can watch a short film about the day featuring interviews with members Laura Fitzgerald and Rita Ann Harrold here:

This year’s protest starts at 1.30 at the Spire on O’ Connell Street this Saturday, 7th March.
