Myles Dungan presents the History Show on Radio 1, he also lectures in UCD. It’s safe to say he’s well versed in the historical writing of Ireland from the last century.

So I asked him to pick out one piece, one piece of history which holds a special place in his heart. He chose an extract from J.C Beckett’s The Making of Modern Ireland 1602-1923.
