Whether you have been here for a week, 3 years or lived here your entire life, there’s one thing all Dubs have in common. A favorite place. The Circular has taken a closer look at 5 students answers when asked the question, what Dublin pearl do you hold dearest?
Presented from the Student Handbook, these answers are meant for newcomers in town with a goal of pulling away from tourist traps. This is the fourth article in a series of 5 student favorite places, so be sure to check in each week for a new piece.
Name: Kevin Hegarty
Field of study: Photographic Media
Favourite place: La Dolce Vita
Often recommended to local hotel guests as “The Italian place to go”, their menu was known to be affordable, but of high quality, with prices ranging from 10-24 euros. Several online reviews described it as the “Authentic Italian restaurant”. and earning the title “The Italian Job” according to the Independent.
The “new” Dolce Vita: Piglet
As of 2017 the place is still filled with wine and food enthusiasts but under a different name. New founders Enrico Fantasia and Thibaud Harand keep the place in perfect conditions for new guests to welcome in. Still going strong with good critiques from both Irish Independent, Times and the Irish Examiner we find Piglet another good place to start off your holidays.
The Circular talked to Kevin Hegarty describing his favorite place, on the steps to Old Temple Bar.
It just had an amazing atmosphere with great music and great people
