However, according to the Craft Yarn Council, CYC , crocheting is anything but dull or boring and it has a broad appeal because it can appeals to a diverse age group. Is crocheting the new yoga? According to the CYC, crocheting is good for body, mind and soul and seemingly crocheting has the same benefits as yoga. Crocheters say that they crochet because it provides the perfect pick me up when they are feeling down; is a perfect way to relax and is a great stress buster. And, crocheting appeals to people of many ages. The CYC, conducted a survey, the Craft Yarn Council 2014’s tracking study, and found that crocheting appeals to people of different ages and these include the 18-34, 35-44, 45-54 and 55-64 age group.

The other benefits of crocheting include the fact that it improves confidence and it gives you a sense of accomplishment. Moreover, other benefits includes the social benefit of crocheting because it provides those who crochet with the opportunity to get together, chat and interact, whilst exploring their creativity.
