Bunratty Castle is an old castle on Ireland’s west coast. One of the things that makes
it really popular for tourists is the medieval banquet with food and entertainment.
The castle was built in 1425 and is located between Limerick and Ennis. It’s also quite close to the
Shannon Airport, which definitely makes it a lot easier for tourists to make a stop by the castle.
Medieval banquet since the mid-’60s.
Bunratty Castle is the most complete and authentic medieval fortress in Ireland. It contains some
furnishings and works of art from the 15th century. The castle has offered the medieval banquet since 1963. Shannon Heritage arranges the popular dinner at the castle through the whole year.
You will get a four course meal and you can have a look at the menu right HERE if you want to. The
only thing that was frustrating about the food experience was the fact that you didn’t get any fork. Only a knife for the dinner meals and a spoon for the dessert. My best advice: Bring some tissues!
My favorite thing about this whole experience was obviously the good atmosphere in the castle
this evening – but also the entertainment. The staff at the castle were actually really good singers
and the songs were pretty fun and audience-friendly. Some of the visitors also made some great performances. The evening was filled with food, music, laughter and cheer. A night to remember!
