If you want to rave to the grave this Halloween here’s where you’ll want to be!
Kicking off the marathon of spooky sessions is the
Sim Simma posse selecting the tracks at Wah Wah Club ( Grand Social).
This is no ordinary night for these guys as it’s the launch night of their residency at the new club space on Liffey Street, with two special guests,
Aquarian, who’s coming all the way from NYC and local legend Donal Dineen, plus the Sim Simma crew’s DJs of course, with entry being a cool €10.
The next act on our long list of underground raves happening this weekend is
Do Not Sleep chief Darius Syrossian.
Playing his first solo headline show in Dublin in over a year, the
Strictly Deep gang will be warming up the stage in District 8 before the main man does his thing.
Advanced tickets are €10 which is a bargain, but they will be gone shortly, with ticket prices rising to €13 and €16 after that.
One for the older generation is a
Sides special in the Button Factory with a series of Old-School pioneers from back in the day.
A lot of nightclubs have 90s nights, but this is as close as it gets with the likes of
Liam Dollard, Pat Hyland, Warren K, Tonie Walsh and Martin Mc Cann.
At 15 quid a pop, tickets can be bought on
Resident Advisor and Ticketmaster.
If Friday night’s gigs don’t cut it for you then Saturday has lots to offer.
Format b will be picking the beats in Hangar with Strictly Deep team. Kaily , Josh Green and Aaron O’Donoghue also feature on this card, completing an exciting line-up.
It’s the full price of €18 for this one as early birds are all gone, but that also means a big crowd should be in store!
While all this goes down
Shadow Child & T.Williams will be the headliners over in District 8 as Shadow Child brings his Connected tour to Dublin.
Early bird tickets are also sold out for this with the full whack being €18.
If you fancy a more intimate scene then
Wah Wah Club is the place to be as Hidden Agenda bring Kiasmos in to do a DJ set, with tickets being cheaper than the other two gigs that night at €8/€10.
Personally, I’ll be waiting for the Sunday as it’s the case of saving the best until last.
Winter party has the hottest line-up of the weekend:
Skream, Hot Since 82, Matador, Jon Hopkins, Dan Stritch and to round it off Cocoon boss Sven Vath.
This amazing party takes place in the
3 Arena and will be worth every penny of the €59.50 it costs.
As this fantastic show ends at 12, there will after parties galore as
Hot Since 82 is playing the Button Factory, Skream playing from open til close in Opium Rooms and Leon Vynehall takes control of Wah Wah Club.
To round it all of nicely on this beast of a weekend
Jeff Mills teams up with the RTE Orchestra in The Board Gais Emergy Theatre so you can hear timeless classics being reinterpreted. Monday:
Hopefully we’ll all be still alive and able to recover….
