While browsing through blogs for an online assignment and looking for some inspiration to design my own. I came across a blog called, “Alright Tit”  a funny name you might think, and of course I thought the exact same until some further investigation.

I went to the about me section and seen that Lisa had studied journalism, and she thought that one day she would be “editing Smash Hits one day” but instead at 28 years of age, while she was editing an interior design magazine was diagnosed first with Breast Cancer. But three years later the disease was back. And this time it was incurable. Lisa renamed Cancer, “The Bullshit”

She designed her blog so that she could write about her every day experiences, but she did not want anyone to feel sorry for her in doing so.

The last blog that Lisa herself wrote was on Christmas Eve 2012, and she talked in it about how a year previous to that she had only been giving a few months to live, but she was still there, after finishing her Christmas shopping.

Not only was Lisa a blogger, but she also wrote a book called the “C-Word” , a book about her life from the time she found out she had Cancer, of course when I heard this the first thing I had to do was go out and buy the book (from Easons) and I am currently only a chapter and a half in and already have laughed and cried.

But on March 31st Lisa unfortunately passed away, her husband posted the blog post to inform her readers and said that Lisa had died the way she planned, with her husband and parents.

Lisa’s obituary featured in The Guardian newspaper and paid tribute to the good work she did in transforming “the way young women think about cancer”.

It seems that Lisa, was a fun loving person, she didn’t take anything seriously and even though she herself knew the inevitable she lived life to the fullest she could.

But what do you think, if you were suffering with cancer and you knew that you only had a few months to live, would you start a blog and let the whole world know or anyone who wanted to read about what you were going through.
